Born in Beijing, raised in a small German town in a patchwork family, I’ve been the “new kid” since age nine. It wasn’t always fun, but it makes for good stories. Mostly about being the odd one out, finding my people, and ending up in places I never planned to go. Which is probably why I write about misfits, unexpected adventures, and people who cry at airports.
After many years working for film festivals and productions – including being the co-founder and former head of the Berlin Asian Film Network – I earned my MFA in Screenwriting from the University of Southern California in 2022 as an Annenberg fellow.
Since then, I’ve been creating stories that explore themes like home, unlikely friendships, and dysfunctional families – often through genres such as Comedy drama, Coming-of-Age, Historical drama and Crime.
I’m currently based in Braunschweig, Germany.
